Imagine your child at the computer — but instead of zoning out on endless games or videos, their eyes are alive with excitement. They’re not just consuming. They’re creating.
With the Griffpatch Library, you unlock 24/7 access to my complete collection of step-by-step tutorials — neatly organised, ad-free, and ready whenever curiosity strikes.
From simple maze games to advanced projects with physics and AI, your child can learn at their own pace, build the games they love, and finally feel the pride of saying: “Look what I built!”
Let’s be honest — free content is great, but it comes at a cost.
- Kids spend more time searching than learning.
- Tutorials feel random — too easy one moment, impossible the next.
- And screen time ends up feeling like wasted time.
Parents worry their kids are drifting. Fans feel stuck, wondering where to go next. Teachers want a safe, structured way to guide students but don’t know where to start.
👉 That’s why the Library exists: to cut through the clutter, bring everything together, and give learners the right tutorial at the right time.
When you join, you’ll unlock my complete tutorial collection — neatly organised and easy to find. Fresh tutorials are added over time, so there’s always something new to explore. And because it’s ad-free, safe, and structured, you’ll know every minute they spend is time well spent.
Right now, membership is just $7/month — and as the Library grows, the price may rise. Lock in your rate today.
When you join the Griffpatch Library, you don’t just get a pile of videos. You get access to a dedicated online hub — a secure platform with your own login, where every tutorial is neatly organised. No ads. No messy search results. No jumping between tabs. Just a clean, focused space where your child can log in, pick a project, and get started immediately. It’s designed so you’ll know their learning environment is safe, structured, and ready whenever they are.
Want to build your own platformer? Puzzle? Arcade game? RPG? Here’s where you’ll find tutorials grouped by genre—so you can dive straight into the kind of game you’ve always wanted to make. And don’t worry, I’ll keep adding more and more as I create them!
Sometimes you don’t need a whole game - you just want that one awesome feature. Here you’ll find tutorials on controls, effects, level creation, AI, and fun extras. Instead of a random pile like YouTube, I’ve grouped everything so it’s super easy to find the exact piece you need for your project.
Ever wondered how real games evolve step by step? A devlog (short for development log) is where I share behind-the-scenes progress on my projects- warts, wins, and all. You’ll see how ideas grow, mistakes get fixed, and projects come to life.
Alongside my videos you’ll also find downloadable PDF resources — breaking projects down into clear, visual steps your child can follow even when they’re away from the computer. Kids can use them to review what they’ve learned, jump back into a project quickly, or even print them out to keep a personal coding workbook.
YouTube is fun, but it’s messy. Kids bounce between random videos, get distracted by ads, and lose track of what they were even building.
The Library solves this:
Everything is organised by game genre, skill level, and game elements.
No ads. No distractions. No wasted time.
Kids can pick what excites them most, progress at their own pace, and actually finish projects.
For fans, it’s a binge-worthy archive. For beginners, it’s a clear, simple starting point.
🏛️All-in-One Access: Every Griffpatch tutorial in one central hub.
🎮 Organised by Game Genre: Platformers, puzzles, RPGs, arcade games, and more — find exactly what inspires you.
⚙️ Game Elements Library: Dive into specific mechanics like controls, AI, effects, or level design.
📝 Devlog Library: Go behind the scenes with insights into how games are made and improved.
🔎 Easy to Search & Navigate: No more hunting across YouTube — everything is categorised and easy to
find.
⏰ Learn at Your Own Pace: Binge tutorials, pause, rewind, and come back anytime.
🌍 Always Growing: New tutorials and resources are added regularly.
💡 Perfect for Independent Learners: Explore coding on your own terms, with guidance from the world’s #1 Scratcher.
If you’re a fan, you know me for epic projects like multiplayer games, platformers, and crazy physics engines. If you’re new, here’s what you need to know: my tutorials are fun, clear, and easy to follow, even if you’ve never coded before.
But here’s why I built the Library: because kids were getting stuck. The beginner stuff was boring. The advanced stuff was overwhelming. And YouTube was too messy to bridge the gap.
So I created a safe, structured space where anyone can start, grow, and create games they’re proud of.
The Library is your content vault. The Academy is the full journey with community, competitions, and progression.
The Griffpatch Library is the content vault. It’s self-paced, ad-free access to all my tutorials in one place — perfect if you just want the content and nothing else.

👉 In short: the Library is for self-starters and fans who want everything in one place. The Academy is for kids who thrive with community, structure, and progression (If you would like to explore the Academy click here).
My tutorials have been featured by Scratch and used in classrooms, coding clubs, and homes all over the world. The Library simply makes these tutorials easier to find, safer to use, and better organised for progress.
The Library gives you permission to:
- Start small and start now.
- Let your child learn at their own pace.
- Choose the organised, stress-free path.
Whether you’re a long-time fan or brand new to my world, this is the simplest way to say yes to coding.
Your child is calling you over, eyes sparkling.
“Look what I built!”
On screen isn’t someone else’s game — it’s theirs.
They’re proud, they’re confident, and you’re relieved knowing that screen time is finally working for them.
Give it a few months, and that spark becomes a flame.
They’re remixing, experimenting, building games you never thought possible — and you know this isn’t just play.
It’s preparation for a creative, confident future.
That’s what starts here.
Both! Beginners start with simple builds, while advanced kids dive into physics, animations, and AI.
Every game genre project ends in a playable game — that’s what keeps kids motivated. And if it’s not the right fit? Cancel anytime.
YouTube is messy. The Library is safe, ad-free, and organised.
The Academy is amazing — it’s the community, competitions, and progression path. But if you’re just looking for the content (or you’re new and testing things out), the Library is the best place to start.
For less than a coffee, you get unlimited access to projects that build skills, resilience, and creativity. It’s the most affordable way to level up coding.
Yes! We offer a 14-day no-questions-asked refund for first-time memberships. If you’re not satisfied, just email us within 14 days of your initial purchase for a full refund.
Please note: Refunds apply only to first-time memberships. Renewals are non-refundable. No refunds are provided after the 14-day period.
Memberships renew automatically unless you cancel before the next billing date. If you don’t want to continue your membership, you must cancel before the next payment date. Unfortunately, we cannot issue refunds for forgotten cancellations, but you will still have full access to your membership until the end of the billing period.
Only if you register them individually. If you’d like to enroll multiple children, you’ll need to complete the sign-up process separately for each child using a different email address. If you’re using the same web browser, simply log out of the Academy Hub (using the button at the top right), and then select the 'Sign Up' option on the login screen to register the next child. This is because each child must have their own account which will showcase their individual achievements and forum profile.
Yes! You will be able to stop your membership whenever you like, for any reason, no questions asked. Should you want to re-enrol again later, that would be no problem either! Just please note that re-enrolling would require you to join through our latest Library offer and price-point.
"Scratch" is a visual programming language and online community developed by the Lifelong Kindergarten Group at the MIT Media Lab. It allows users, primarily children and beginners, to create interactive stories, games, and animations by dragging and dropping code blocks. The language is designed to be intuitive and accessible, using colourful blocks that represent different programming constructs like loops, conditionals, and variables.
Scratch provides a gentle introduction to programming concepts without requiring users to learn complex syntax, making it popular for educational purposes.
Block-coding, as seen in Scratch, refers to the programming paradigm where users manipulate visual blocks representing code instead of typing textual instructions. Each block corresponds to a specific command or operation, and users connect them together to create sequences of actions.
This approach abstracts away the complexities of traditional text-based programming languages, making it easier for beginners to understand and create programs while providing a solid foundation for later progressing onto more complex coding forms. Block-coding environments like Scratch are often used in educational settings to teach computational thinking and programming concepts in a fun and interactive way.
This is something we hope to do in time... but to begin with, everything we do will be taught in English.
Six months from now, your child could be proudly showing you their own finished games… or still wasting time scrolling YouTube.
The difference is the choice you make today.
For just $7/month, you get unlimited access to the Griffpatch Library — and you lock in your rate as the Library continues to grow.
Don’t wait. Start now.

I'm an adult and I know how to code in other languages, but I still watch your videos, because having to translate the simple blocks into real code gives me a better understanding of how and why it works, than copying stuff off of Github or Stack Overflow. Thanks for all your help Griffpatch
Carli (Student)
Your tutorials are fantastic! Although I've been on scratch for over 4 years, your tutorials still teach me new stuff. Your tutorials are really easy for anyone to understand- making the code very customizable! A key part of tutorials is explaining why you need that piece of code, how it works, and the like. Some people will just sit there telling you what to do- but not why it works. Thank you for being such an influential scratcher. Please keep it up! Plus: I'm looking forward to a new tutorial past this- possibly a roguelike? ;)
Mountain Tiger (Student)
Amazing video as before in this series. I started doing scratch and then moved on to C# and Unity and even in a more advanced language i still am learning things from you. You Rock Griffpatch ⚡ And out of all the videos uploaded by subscribers in my list i always watch your first!
Dawn (Student)
I love these tutorials! I'm a computer science student now, but my original interest in programming came from Scratch. The way you explain how things work in these videos is amazing, it's done in a way that even beginner Scratchers can pick up on, and I still find myself learning new and better ways to organize my code from them. I love seeing how much Scratch can really do...

I had 5 online teachers who taught me game design, yet i found Griffpatch and i learned more stuff from his videos more than all of my old teachers combined i love ur videos! :D
Johanna (Student)
BEST TEACHER EVERRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jane (Student)
When Griffpatch is way smarter than your computing teacher (fr we did scratch and she knew nothing about scratch)
Jama
(Student)
Thank you Griffpatch for the tutorials :) you have improved the scratch experience for people and you are the only reason I got into programming! Even if you don't read this, I just want to write a thank you note. love from South Africa
Bob (Student)
Your Scratch tutorials are unmatched. I think you've found a perfect balance between keeping the videos a certain length and making sure the viewer understands what they're doing. I usually watch the tutorials before following them so I have a general idea of what I'm going to have to do when I eventually follow them. Keep doing what you're doing, because you're doing an incredible job. :)
I feel smarter after watching your videos. Thank you!

When was 9 found your account on Scratch, you amazed me with what you could do with it and inspired me to start teaching myself how to code. Now I'm finishing my 2nd semester of CS at university and am loving it still. Just wanted to say thank you for inspiring me as a kid.

I think everything about your videos is great. They are the right pace with the right amount of explanation. I wouldn't even mind if they were longer! I always learn the most and retain the information using your tutorials! I always ask myself when I am stuck on a coding problem: what would Griffpatch do!
Chieseledboockshelf(Student)
Can you be my math teacher?
Vixioelol (Student)
If Griffpatch were my computer science teacher that would be my favourite class

9 months ago I just found that you made a channel as I wanted to thank you. I followed your work as a kid and it defo was a big part of what sparked my interest in programming. years on and my interest is still going strong. Hopefully going to university for computer science next year. So yeah thanks.

@o9mansionboy_creater (Student)
You are just the best Griffpatch you are the one who inspired me to start my coding adventure and iv learned so much and I am glad to say thanks for all you have done I would have not discovered my passion for coding without you so I am very glad to say I love your idea of a academy for more people to get inspired like you did to me I am eternaly grateful for you

Just want to say thanks for all the amazing tutorials. My son was off school for a a few days with an illness and we worked together to see who could finish as much of the mario platformer as possible. Loads of fun! He said he's learned way more doing your tutorials than he would have at school lol
Eayuwna (Parent)
Thank you for all your efforts. My 9 year old son is now the king of his code club having followed your tutorial and has started asking me to teach him what sin, cos and tan are - wish me luck ;-) Your content is so well put together thank you so much.
Jean-Baptiste (Parent)
The pace is great. Sometimes we follow along with my son and sometimes we just watch you work your magic together. I can’t overstate the positive impact you have on my 7yo son, he loves you and we bond watching your videos.
Daniel (Parent)
I am loving this series as my daughter is having great fun making gardens and house interiors with the editor.
Steve (Parent)
Pace is great! We pause frequently but sometimes keep up. I’d rather that than too slow. My 11-yo and I are coding the rpg series together (each on separate computers) and it has been great quality time. He has done and loved many of your other videos. When I don’t follow the rationale of the script, I hit the back arrow for 10 or 20 second rewind and listen again after I have the code in place. Of course, my son gets it all the first time, sometimes even predicting what you’ll do next
Mike (Grandparent)
As a retired electrical engineer... who has been coding for the last 50 years I have gone through the learning curve of becoming productive in a new programming language multiple times... My grandson and I have been getting together once or twice a week for over a year to develop our Scratch skills. Your video approach has allowed us to learn more about productive Scratch coding in the last 3 months than all we did in the previous year. You have a gift for explaining complex graphics concepts in terms that your followers can understand and adapt as we experiment with your code. You should feel good knowing how much you are contributing to the positive development of a whole generation of Scratchers.
George (Parent)
I am a Software Developer with over 30 years experience, but my son prefers learning from you :) And he really became very good with your videos and scratch. Thank you for your valuable work.
Riteshshivhare156 (Parent)
My son just LOVES this SO MUCH!!!!!!
Calogiga (Parent)
So many many many thanks for sharing your knowledge... Now, as a father, I have a mission to simplify all of this to explain this clearly to my daughter (12 years old) : she's coding and playing with me with Scratch. Many many thanks...
gitavianvs (Parent)
My daughter loves your works. She inspired by you to be a game programmer
Stragejason (Parent)
Hi Grif, I’m not sure if you will see this, but I wanted to let you know, my son of 9 years old, screamed with excitement about your new series, your videos have inspired and helped him learn scratch and it just blows our minds. Anyways, William say hello and thank you.
JohnW (Teacher)
Hey Griffpatch, thanks for everything you've done for the Scratch education community! You helped me understand how platformers (among other things) work, and now as an educator, I use your projects and tutorials to help get my students excited about coding too! I'm also able to use what I learned studying your programs around 9 years ago to help teach my students. Thank you so much - your work is incredible!
Rousagenciapublicitaria4268 (Teacher)
Thank you for teaching me how to make geometry dash since my students wanted to make one
GeekSHO (Coding Teacher)
This is amazing! Griffpatch, please know how incredible your projects are, but also these video contributions to the community. I teach computer programming, and I often use Scratch for many of my students. These tutorials help me teach students some really cool tricks.
DeanYeats (Teacher)
I appreciate the smaller contained tutorials. I teach groups of students and often see them attempt your longer tutorials and quit a few videos in. Recently I've seen them thrilled to show off the car steering and ball physics ones they've completed. Thank you for all your doing. You are bringing smiles to students and teachers faces worldwide by introducing them to the joys of programming.
Taylor (Teacher)
Great tutorials! I am a teacher using them with my students.
Eden (Coding Teacher)
Hi there, I am a teacher and am using your tutorials with my code club I think the pace of the videos is perfect. The pupils and I follow along pausing when needed and rewinding if necessary. The theory at the beginning along with the additional theory throughout the video is why I use your tutorials, it explains what you are doing in a way that the children understand.
kronicali24 (Teacher)
I had taught basic scratch games to my summer school students, they really loved it. I am surprised how far it has come since.
SPHSPHSPH (Coding Teacher)
As a middle school teacher making scratch vids for my 10-13 year old students, it's a pleasure to have high level stuff being made that helps me as a teacher learn how to do things! I feel like there's only 3-5 other people consistently making high level Scratch content for advanced folks. Love it! :D
Pat (Coding Teacher)
I have a student who wants to add robot arms to her robot sprite that rotates like true shoulder and elbow joints (we are studying the human body) how do I help her with this without a whole lot of variables (she is in grade 5 and I am her coding teacher)
Rob (Teacher)
@griffpatch I'm a teacher and I'm loving all of this! I am hoping to introduce it to some of my middle school computer students.
Spartan (Teacher)
Hi Griffpatch, I urgently need help as I am planning a lesson for my students that is happening very soon... Please help!
